When is the last time someone said that the Gamecocks have the second-best defensive line in the SEC? Never comes to mind, or maybe that it's been a really long time.
But that's what Knoxville News Sentinel reporter Drew Edwards believes about the 2007 Gamecocks.
In a blog entry on Thursday, Edwards wrote that USC has the second-best line in the SEC, trailing only LSU.
"Ends Jordin Lindsey and Eric Norwood are solid, and a signing class that included seven defensive linemen gives the Gamecocks plenty of options. Cliff Matthews is perhaps the best of the incoming class. Carolina feels so good about its D-line that Casper Brinkley (and his seven sacks from ’06 at defensive end) is moving to linebacker."In previous blog entries, Edwards ranked USC's quarterbacks No. 9 and USC's running backs No. 5.
