9:50 - USC scores a run in the T9 on a RBI groundout by Havens. WE go to the B9 with USC leading 10-4. USC had 16 hits on the night. USC will improve to 34-15 overall entering this weekend's series at Arkansas. The team will fly to Fayetteville Thursday via commercial.
9:45 - Brandon Todd isn't fooling anybody right now. There's a double to deep CF. Merrifield almost made a nice catch. But 2 runs score. It's 9-4 USC. There's a 1-4-3 groundout for the final out. WE GO TO THE NINTH WITH USC LEADING 9-4.
9:40 - Todd has surrendered singles to his first three batters. Wofford has a run in and runners on the corners with 1 out. USC leads 9-2 in the B8.
9:35 - We have 1 out in the B8. Here comes Tanner. Brandon Todd coming in to pitch. This will be his 14th appearance of the season.
9:30 - We have 2 outs in the T8. Lail up. He belts one to deep CF. It's gone! Home run for Lail, his 5th of the season. Solo HR. That's USC's first run since the third inning. We go to the B8 with USC leading 9-1. USC has 15 hits, Wofford 4. Farotto still pitching for USC.
9:25 - Farotto works a perfect 1-2-3 in the B7. 2 K's and a F-9. We go to the T8 with USC leading 8-1.
9:20 - USC had runners at the corners with 2 outs inthe T7 but didn't score thanks to an excellent play by the Wofford SS on a grounder by Smoak. Earlier, Crisp singled and Havens was HBP. But USC didn't score. We go to the B7 with USC leading 8-1.
9:08 - Farotto K's the final batter. We go to the T7 with USC leading 8-1.
9:05 - Farotto comes in throwing gas. He K's the first batter. But he walks the second hitter. Bases loaded, 1 out. USC needs a DP here to preserve the shutout. 3-0. There's a strike. Foul. 3-2. F-7 for the SF. Run scores. It's 8-1 USC.
8:55 - Two walks to open the B6 have ended Dyson's night. LHP Alex Farotto comes on for USC. Wofford had 2 runners on, 0 outs in the B6. USC leads 8-0.
8:45 - USC down 1-2-3 in the T6. 5-3, 5-3, X-3. We go to the B6 with USC ahead, 8-0. Dyson comes out for the 6th. It looks like he will take the team lead in wins with 6. Four other pitchers have five wins apiece.
8:40 - Dyson works a perfect B5 with a F-8, K, P-3. We go to the T6 with USC ahead, 8-0. New pitcher for Wofford. The last guy did pretty well, holding USC scoreless for two innings.
8:30 - Consecutive singles by Merifield and Smoak with 2 outs in the T5. The top three hitters in USC's order have already had four plate appearances apiece and we're only in the fifth. 3-2 on Darnell. Runners will be moving. Line drive to CF. Wofford CF makes a sliding ctach. The umps don't make a call right away. They';re talking about it. Now they say it's an out, We go to the B5 with USC leading, 8-0.
8:20 - Wofford managed to get runners on the corners with 2 outs in the B4 on a pir of singles. But Dyson worked out of the jam with a F-7. We go to the T5 with USC ahead, 8-0.
8:15 - USC down 1-2-3 in the T4. 6-3, 4-3, K. We go to the B4 with USC leading 8-0.
8:10 - Wofford gets a 2-out single in the B3 but that's it. We go to the T4 with USC leading 8-0. New pitcher for Wofford. He's a LHP.
8:00 - Disher grounds out 5-3 for the third out in the T3. Dyson has an 8-0 lead as we go to the B3. As long as he lasts three more innings, he should pick up his 8th win of the season.
7:55 - USC has another run here in the T3. Mack walked and, with 1 out, Havens drove a double into RF on a hit-and-run. Mack scored onthe play. It's 7-0 USC. Merrifield 5-3. Smoak up. Single to RF! Here comes Havens. He scores with a great slide. It's 8-0 USC. USC has 11 hits.
7:45 - Wofford has a runner at 2B with 2 outs in the B2. Dyson is throwing well tonight, although he drilled a batetr with a 90 mph fastball. That had to hurt. Dyson just blew a fastball past the final batter. We go to the T3 with USC leading, 6-0.
7:40 - Crisp singles to LF. Here comes Smoak. Here comes the throw. He's out! Not again!! That's the third time Smoak has been gunned down at the plate within the last week. We go to the B2 with USC leading 6-0.
7:35 - Darnell pops up to first. 1 out. Disher up. Base hit to LF! A blooper. Merrifield scores easily. It's 6-0 USC. Lail F-8. 2 outs. Crisp up. Runners on 1&2.
7:30 - Here we go again. Merrifield leads off the T2 with a double down the 3B line. Smoak up. He walked the last time. They're telling us that the play on Lail's ball in the T1 has officially been ruled a FC. He does get credit for a RBI. Smoak walks. Runners on 1&2, 0 outs for Darnell. Could be another big inning for USC.
7:25 - A 4-6-3 DP ends the B1. We go to the T2 with USC ahead 5-0.
7:20 - USC finally out in the T1. USC leads 5-0. They had 7 hits in the inning and sent 10 men to the plate. Sam Dyson has a 5-run lead to work with.
7:15 - Crisp out 1-3. Mack up. He singles to CF! 2 runs score! USC leads 5-0. Wingo up. He bunts. The ball sails past 1B. Error. Runners on 2&3, 2 outs. Havens up again. USC leads 5-0. Here comes the Wofford coach. The P stays in.
7:10 - Darnell up. 2-2. Base hit right through the Wofford 3B. Two runs score! USC leads 2-0. Runners on 1&2, 0 outs. Disher up. Darnell now has 67 RBI. Disher singles to LF! Bases loaded. Lail bloops one to CF. It falls for a hit! But Darnell doesn't leave 2B. He's forced at 3B. Lail ends up with a FC. Smoak scores. It's 3-0 USC. 1 out for Crisp.
7:08 - Smoak walks on 4 pitches. That was an unintentional intentional walk. I don't think the Wofford pitcher wanted any piece of Smoak. Bases loaded for Darnell. He's batting .309.
7:07 - That didn't take long. Havens rifles the first pitch into LF for a single. He now has 72 hits on the season. Merrifield singles to RF. Runners on 1&2, 0 outs. Here comes Smoak.
7:05 - We're almost ready for baseball here at Russell King Field. Wofford is taking its final warmups. Havens steps in. Let's play ball.
